Learning

A winner's education lasts throughout his or her life. Winners are always looking for ways to fill in the gaps in their understanding. They are constantly learning on two different levels: knowledge and skill.

Winners have a never-quenched thirst for knowledge. They read and ask questions. They study problems, watch others, and think. A winner understands that the mind is the most effective leadership tool, and he sharpens it constantly.

Also, winners are constantly in training. As skillful as they may be, they constantly tone and train. They seek a racer's edge in their field of endeavor. They practice with the discipline of an athlete. They read the manuals and do the roadwork. They seek the counsel of good coaches - coaches with keen insight who will look for the little, unnoticed flaws and will provide instruction to hone their skills without discouraging them.

Winners are learners.
